Olivier Giroud made a very strong choice for his short-term future.
It was anticipated, and it should soon be official: Olivier Giroud will end his adventure in Milan to take the plunge by crossing the Atlantic. The French international striker will join Major League Soccer to take up the American challenge proposed by Los Angeles FC.
Several media outlets claim this Tuesday that a total agreement has been found for the signing of Giroud in California. At the age of 37, the 208 world champion is preparing to open a significant new chapter in his career. It will certainly be the last.
Giroud makes a strong choice
Giroud will join his long-time friend and accomplice Hugo Lloris, with whom he experienced the most beautiful moments of his history in the France team. The selection’s top scorer (57 goals) should sign a contract which will link him to Los Angeles FC until December 2025. A lease with an additional year.
After his emergence in Montpellier, Giroud attended two major English clubs, Arsenal then Chelsea, in order to take his career to a new dimension. His recent move to AC Milan was a great success, with a Scudetto in 2022. At the end of his contract with the Lombard club, the Blues striker remained undecided about his future. “ I want to finish the season in the best possible way and then we’ll see what happens next season“, he explained to DAZN at the beginning of the month. The rest is well written.
