Manchester United winger Antony is working hard to feature at Wembley this weekend after missing last season’s FA Cup final.
The Brazilian missed the final defeat against Man City after sustaining a late-season knock.
Antony was left out of the squad last weekend when United drew 2-2 at Bournemouth. No reason was given for the player’s absence.
However, Antony will now switch his focus to Sunday’s semi-final tie against Coventry City.
The Brazil international took to Instagram last night with a video of himself taking an ice bath, captioned: ‘New week’.
Ice baths are commonly used by professional athletes to help speed up recovery times, ease inflammation and to relax muscles.
Antony to start at Wembley
Erik ten Hag has a decision to make because Antony’s performances have shown a slight improvement in recent times, while Marcus Rashford continues to underwhelm on the left wing.
Antony’s best performance of the season came in the recent 4-3 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. He also came off the bench to score against Liverpool in the previous round of the FA Cup.
It is most likely that Antony will be named on the bench against Coventry, but he should be pushing to start multiple league games before the season ends. Perhaps a last chance saloon to prove himself with several fans calling for him to be sold in the summer.
