England youth international Baylee Dipepa has reportedly come under Manchester United’s radar ahead of a potential summer switch, although it is understood that Newcastle are chasing the youngster.
According to NUFCBlog, Newcastle scouts have been hugely impressed by the Port Vale striker, who has scored four goals in four appearances for England’s U17s.
Dipepa has enjoyed a breakthrough season with the League One club, where he found the net twice in his last four starts.
It is understood that Newcastle are prepared to pay a six-figure sum to avoid going to a tribunal, but face serious competition from Manchester United and West Ham, as well as Bundesliga duo Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.
These cases usually come down to how serious United are about the player, which will depend on how much they know about him and his potential to become a top player. It would be a huge step up to United from Port Vale, but we are a football club that believes in giving opportunities to promising young players.
