Tony Todd passed away at 69 on Wednesday, November 6, at his Marina Del Rey home in California, according to PEOPLE. A representative confirmed his death, though the cause remains unknown, Variety reports.
Todd’s representative shared with Fox News Digital their deep gratitude for the chance to work alongside him.
“I am lucky to have been able to work with this amazing man and I will miss him every single day,” the representative stated.
Virginia Madsen, who starred with Tony Todd in the original ‘Candyman,’ shared a heartfelt tribute to him on Instagram. She posted an emotional video holding back tears, saying she was at a loss for words and would share more when she’s ready. Madsen also thanked fans and followers for their support and kind messages.
“My beloved. May you rest in power sweet to the sweet in heaven. The great actor Tony Todd has left us and now is an angel. As he was in life. More later but I can’t right now. I love you. #candyman,” Madsen captioned the post.
