Manchester United left-back Brandon Williams has said it was a ‘privilege’ to spend the 2023/24 season on loan at Ipswich Town as the Tractor Boys were successful in their pursuit for promotion to the Premier League.
Although Williams joined Ipswich on a season-long loan last summer, he only managed to make 17 appearances (10 as a starter) due to injury and illness. His final appearance for Ipswich came in a scoreless draw against QPR on December 29.
The loan spell got off to a promising start under Kieran McKenna, who Williams knew from his time as a coach at United. A number of setbacks followed and the left-back failed to make a single appearance in 2024.
In a post on Instagram, Williams wrote a heartfelt message to Ipswich: “IPSWICH TOWN it was a privilege to play for this club. Thank you for all the support from everybody associated within the club and outside! Good luck next season I will be supporting Uppa the tractor boys.”
Nobody knows where Williams will end up this summer, but United are not expected to extend his contract which explres on June 30.
Williams is one of three players set to be released this month, as per The Telegraph. The others include Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane.
