A new tag team could potentially be coming to WWE SmackDown.

Bron Breakker seemingly wrapped up his time in NXT on the April 9 episode. There, he and Baron Corbin lost the NXT Tag Team Championship to Axiom and Nathan Frazer. Breakker is signed to WWE SmackDown, but he remained part of NXT for his title run. Now that he no longers holds the gold, Breakker will seemingly focus on SmackDown.

Corey Brennan of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Tuesday was Bron Breakker’s final night in NXT. He writes that there have been pitches to have Baron Corbin join Breakker on SmackDown and continue their tag team there.

Bron Breakker and Corbin teamed up together for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. They won the tournament and went on to beat Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo to capture the NXT Tag Team Championship.

Baron Corbin Says Goodbye To NXT

After the April 9 episode of WWE NXT, Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker addressed the crowd. Breakker thanked everyone and reflected on his time in NXT.

“We came out here tonight to really thank all of you,” Bron Breakker said. “I got my start right here in this very building from day one back in NXT 2.0. Right here in the WWE Performance Center, since day one, all of you guys have been on this journey on this ride with me the whole time, so I cannot thank you enough. I want to thank Shawn Michaels for giving me the opportunity to come back here, along with all of the Performance Center coaches that are here every single day, working their butts off to create the future for WWE. I want to thank all the competitors who have pushed me along the way.”

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
