A new report provides an update on Kenny Omega.
In December, former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega announced that he would be out indefinitely, as he had to go to the hospital. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful then reported that Omega had been hospitalized and diagnosed with diverticulitis. Dave Meltzer previously reported that Omega still had not had surgery, and there was no timeline for his recovery.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the situation and provided an update. He stated that the current plan is to wait seven weeks before they decide whether surgery is the best course of action. Meltzer noted that part of the decision will be determining whether Omega can heal on his own without the surgery.
He also stated that Omega’s condition had been “so bad” that they could not risk the surgery at the time, so now they have to wait and see. Meltzer said that Omega is in a “tough” and painful situation. (H/t Ian Carey of F4WOnline.com)
