After an intense battle filled with multiple German Suplexes and high-risk dives, Natsupoi would successfully roll up Saori Anou with the La Magistral to win her first Wonder of Stardom Championship. This is also Natsupoi’s first major championship victory in her STARDOM career. Her last major title run was for TJPW as the inaugural International Princess Champion back in 2019.
Natsupoi has been vocal for the past few months about wanting to win the white belt from her Cosmic Angels friend Saori Anou. Saori, unfortunately, lost the title to Mika Iwata of Sendai Girls at STARDOM The Conversion on June 22nd. However, she recaptured the title back from Mika at the Sendai Girls’ Korakuen Hall show on July 15th along with Mika’s Sendai Girls World Championship.
The former champion remained proud in defeat. “It’s not that I’m not frustrated, it’s really frustrating. Of course, it’s frustrating. I lost to Natsumi [Natsupoi]. But I don’t want to lose. I want to beat Natsumi. Natsumi is my strongest rival and the best partner. That will always be the case,” Saori explained.
The two spoke post-match with Natsupoi reiterating that their battle was merely a start and not the end goal. Both women agreed that this experience will never keep them apart and that there may be plenty of matches to come between the two (translation by Himanshu Doi on Twitter).
