Erik ten Hag has provided an update on his selection options for Manchester United’s clash with Burnley tomorrow.

The Red Devils take to the Old Trafford turf for the second consecutive Premier League match, in which they’ll be hoping to seal back-to-back victories following a four-game winless streak.

Ten Hag’s men were able to see off bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United eventually, despite the travelling Blades leading twice in a cagey 60 minutes of action in M16. Bruno Fernandes inspired the turnaround with two goals of his own before assisting Rasmus Hojlund for a fourth in the closing stages.

Now, it’s a meeting with 19th-placed Burnley that awaits United, with the Clarets having already sustained 21 losses this term.

Team news for upcoming fixtures

In Friday’s pre-match press conference, Ten Hag confirmed (Samuel Luckhurst) that Mason Mount is set to return to the fold after what’s been an injury-plagued maiden campaign for the former Chelsea star. Getting minutes under his belt is vital as he looks to finally settle and oversee a consistent run of games.

Additionally, the manager revealed more positive news that long-term absentees Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial will resume training with the squad next week. The two defenders are integral starters when fit, and assuming they’re fit for the FA Cup final next month, it could significantly boost United’s chances of lifting the trophy.
