WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker recently shared his experiences dressing up as his storyline younger brother, Kane, on two separate occasions during his storied career.

During a recent episode of his “Six Feet Under” podcast, The Phenom detailed the unique challenges and pressures of portraying “The Big Red Machine.”

The first instance occurred during a match against Mankind, followed by a brawl with Triple H the following year. The Undertaker revealed that he initially had reservations about pulling off Kane’s character, particularly because of the noticeable weight difference between him and the real Kane, Glenn Jacobs.

“I don’t know whose idea it was, but it was genius,” The Undertaker remarked. “It’s funny because you think you know these people all the time, but when you have to emulate them, their mannerisms, and everything, it becomes kind of pressure-filled to sell it without tipping anyone off. When we did that, I think Kane was probably like 25 pounds heavier than I was, so I was like, ‘Oh, man, I’m going to look like anorexic Kane in this suit.’ But both times it came off without a hitch, nobody had a clue, and just one of those iconic moments.”

The Undertaker fondly recalled the reactions of WWE commentators Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler, who were visibly shocked when he eventually revealed himself by ripping off the Kane mask. He praised the creative idea and reflected on the memorable moments that have since become iconic in WWE history.

These instances highlight The Undertaker’s versatility and commitment to his craft, further solidifying his legendary status in professional wrestling. The Undertaker’s recount of dressing up as Kane provides a fascinating glimpse into the behind-the-scenes creativity and challenges of WWE storytelling.
