Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has hailed the club’s loyal supporters after they gave an excellent account of themselves during Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

It was another underwhelming display from the Reds after travelling to the Vitality Stadium.

You never know what you will get from this United side, which is how Gary Neville identified a worrying trend with Ten Hag’s team. The former right-back hit out at the Reds for switching off in games, especially in away games.

Neville told his Sky Sports podcast: “The United fans, last night, they never stopped. They never stop away from home and they are watching some real dodgy stuff. They keep going and going, they never turn on the team, they never turn on the manager, and they are amazing. Amazing. They are being dealt some right guff. But the FA Cup is everything.”

Despite witnessing another lacklustre display from their team, the United faithful were as good as United’s players were bad.

Some will argue that we deserve better but football is about ups and downs. Ten Hag needs to turn things around before the mounting pressure gets worse.

United take on Coventry City in the FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday at Wembley.
