The managerial market is scarce this summer and I think people need to realise that when they are calling for Erik ten Hag’s head.

Fans are still within their right to question the manager. The results aren’t good enough but fans appear split on whether to buy the injury excuse any longer.

It’s hard to imagine United fans liking the idea of England’s Gareth Southgate replacing Ten Hag at Old Trafford after the European Championship.

It wouldn’t be the best news for United or our fanbase.

This particularly laughable update comes from Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna, with the reporter claiming that the Reds have made the former Middlesbrough manager their ‘top target as new head coach’.

🆕️ Man Utd make Gareth Southgate top target as new head coach

➡️ Not agreed yet but situation expected to develop soon

🗓 Ideally, MU would like to conclude a deal in the comings week to announce him after the EURO

Spare me the rubbish… Southgate is not a United manager and never will be. It’s a baffling idea and the sooner it is squashed the better.

No matter how bad things get under Ten Hag, it’s difficult to see how exactly the 53-year-old would offer a serious improvement at Old Trafford.
