Despite signing a five-year contract last July, Marcus Rashford is among numerous Manchester United players facing an uncertain future at the club.

The Old Trafford faithful will be hoping that the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his esteemed hierarchy will see a sense of ruthlessness implemented over United’s transfers from now on.

Whether that be extortionate transfer fees for bang-average players (hint: Antony for £86 million, who has one Premier League goal to his name this season) or keeping hold of players that should’ve been sold long ago, it’s time for change across the board.

Nobody could’ve expected that last term, while Rashford was in the midst of what would end up being a career-best campaign, he would again be finding himself linked with a United exit, but here we are.

The England international netted 30 times in 56 appearances across all competitions in 2022/2023, notching 10 assists in the process. Now, as we approach the final five fixtures of the season – Premier League and FA Cup final – Rashford has eight goals and five assists to his name.

Reports suggested back in March that Paris Saint-Germain were contemplating reigniting their interest in the forward following confirmation of Kylian Mbappe’s impending exit, although his eye-watering wages of £325,000 per week, along with any transfer fee set by United, is likely to deter interested clubs.

United’s stance on potential Rashford sale

The ever-reliable David Ornstein has clarified the club’s stance on Rashford ahead of the summer window, stating that their preferred option is to keep him in M16 and aid him as best as possible while he looks to return to the prolific form he so frequently displayed last year.

However, they would consider offers should ‘substantial bids’ arrive, as well as if the player decides he wants to embark on a new venture elsewhere.
