Lisandro Martinez was quick on the scene to prevent Alejandro Garnacho from over-celebrating his opener in Saturday’s FA Cup final and get back to the task at hand.

The Manchester United starlet did superbly to stay onside while awaiting Diogo Dalot’s pass and keep the pressure on Manchester City’s backline before Stefan Ortega and Josko Gvardiol oversaw a disastrous mistake to let Garnacho through on an open goal.

He then reeled off to passionately celebrate his strike in front of the travelling City supporters as his teammates made their way over, and Martinez lingered longer than the rest to praise his compatriot.

After the squad returned to restart play, Garnacho continued his celebrations solely, showing the United badge to the surrounding fans in the stands before kissing it. When Martinez twigged what was going on, he grabbed the teenager and seemingly ordered him to focus by grabbing him and pushing him back towards the Reds’ half.

You can understand why, too, as at that time in the match, there was still work to do.

Certainly a big brother/little brother type bond between the two Argentines!
