Sir Jim Ratcliffe arrived at Old Trafford five hours before Manchester United take on Arsenal in the Premier League.
Joined by sporting director Sir Dave Brailsford, it is understood that the pair arrived at the stadium early to survey everything that has been happening on matchday.
Footage courtesy of Sky Sports this afternoon showed Ratcliffe and Brailsford chatting over a coffee.
Ratcliffe was also seen asking a member of the Old Trafford staff what they were doing, a gesture highlighting his hands-on approach to the club.

Later today United will be looking to return to winning ways after the disappointing 4-0 defeat at Crystal Palace on Monday night.
Some will look at this negatively and suggest that Ratcliffe should be at Wembley for the women’s FA Cup final against Tottenham Hotspur.
It’s clear from his brief interaction with Old Trafford staff that he’s got issues to address closer to home.
