Vince McMahon might not be playable in WWE 2K24, but he’s still featured at points in this year’s Showcase mode.
Following the lawsuit in January against Vince McMahon and WWE, the decision was made to remove Mr. McMahon and Brock Lesnar as playable characters in WWE 2K24.
While Lesnar is still featured in both Showcase and MyRise due to the inability to remove characters from these modes this late in the game, the former WWE Champion isn’t playable in any other modes of the game.
On the other hand, Vince McMahon wasn’t playable in either mode, making his removal easier. Despite that, McMahon is still featured in the WrestleMania 17 match between Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. He’s also featured in a video package for the lead-in to the women’s triple threat match at WrestleMania 35.
While footage of McMahon was blurred out for the WrestleMania 35 match, McMahon isn’t blurred in the video footage of the match between Rock and Austin at WrestleMania 17.
Why 2K chose to blur McMahon in one part of Showcase and not another is currently unknown at this time.
