Despite only making his breakthrough into Manchester United’s first-team last season, Alejandro Garnacho has become an integral cog at the heart of Erik ten Hag’s side in 2023/2024.

No outfield player has featured more than the 19-year-old this term. He is tied with resurgent teammate Diogo Dalot on 49 appearances, while skipper Bruno Fernandes has clocked 48.

Garnacho, meanwhile, has been named in the starting 11 for 37 consecutive matches, cementing his place on the flank over the likes of £86 million counterpart Antony or fellow youngster Amad Diallo.

He was included in Lionel Scaloni’s provisional Argentina squad for their forthcoming friendlies, after which the manager will need to trim his selection by three ahead of Copa America kicking off.

Should the United starlet play a key role and impress throughout the tournament – assuming he makes the cut – his representatives could well push for an improved contract at Old Trafford, according to Chris Wheeler of Mail Sport.

The teenager put pen to paper on new terms last April, which sees him tied to United until June 2028. His wages also increased to a reported £50,000 per week.
