Former Netherlands midfielder Wesley Sneijder says Antony should be “embarrassed” for taunting Coventry City’s players. He wants to Reds to lose 5-0 in the FA Cup final as a result.

Just seconds after United beat Coventry City in a penalty shootout to reach the FA Cup final, Antony cupped his ear to taunt the opposition’s players.

Antony’s actions were explained by Erik ten Hag after the match. The Dutchman explained that the winger had been “provoked”, but former Inter Milan and Ajax midfielder Sneijder has torn into Antony.

The 39-year-old, who was regularly linked with a move to United during his playing career, told Ziggo Sport (via Goal): “Antony should be absolutely embarrassed for what he did. He should have walked straight off the pitch instead of doing that. I hope Manchester United lose 5-0 in the final.”

The Brazil international earned praise on the recent episode of the Strettycast for taunting Coventry City’s players, and I think Sneijder is just bitter about never getting his dream switch to United.

Antony started United’s next game against Sheffield United as the Reds won 4-2. It remains to be seen if he will retain his place in the team for Saturday’’s clash against Burnley.
