WWE Hall of Famer X-Pac made an appearance during the December 3rd episode of NXT and before that, he looked noticeably jacked and this made fans wonder if he would wrestle again. It turns out that X-Pac was dealing with diverticulitis and has now revealed how Kenny Omega guided him during that time.
While speaking to Denise Salcedo, X-Pac was asked whether he would return to the ring again. X-Pac made it clear he is not stepping foot inside the squared circle and explained that he had been dealing with diverticulitis, a serious health issue that put him in the hospital for eight days last year.
During that time, he lost about 30 pounds and decided to take his health more seriously. He started training and working on his recovery, which wasn’t easy. The condition came back briefly, but he got help right away and is now doing much better.
“No, just no, flat out no. I mean, then watch—next thing you know, I show up at Rumble or something—but no. I’m just trying to get in better shape.
You know, I haven’t talked about this with anybody before, but earlier last year, I was in the hospital for eight days with diverticulitis. It almost killed me. After that, I lost a bunch of weight—like 30 pounds—and I decided to take things more seriously, to get off my ass and focus on my health.
Training every day was tough. It took a while to feel better, but now I’m doing good. It came back a little bit at one point, but as soon as I noticed it, I went straight to the hospital. Anyways, all that to say I’m doing great now, but I had a rough time earlier.”
X-Pac also revealed that Kenny Omega supported him during his recovery by giving advice and encouragement. Even though X-Pac is feeling good now, he said he doesn’t plan to return to the ring.
“Kenny helped me through it. He was texting me while I was in the hospital, telling me what to expect and everything. That really helped. Great guy.”
Kenny Omega’s battle with diverticulitis almost ended his life but he is back to in-ring action, having competed in a solid match at Wrestle Dynasty. Regardless, fans are glad to hear that Omega helped out X-Pac in such a way when the legend was dealing with diverticulitis, as it goes to show just how wonderful of a person he truly is.
